In 2024, the Island Bay School Fair built on its earlier success with reusable cups to roll out a reusable serviceware system across the entire event.
Driven by the school’s commitment to kaitiakitanga and community care, the fair partnered with FillGood to put reusables at the heart of how food and drink were served.
The FillGood Setup
To support the fair’s growing reuse ambitions, FillGood provided:
Reusable cups, plates, and bowls
Our mobile wash trailer, washing onsite
Clear, easy-to-use signage to guide attendees to return
This simple setup allowed stallholders to serve hundreds of meals without any disposables, and helped the school showcase what low-impact community events can really look like.
