Pride Parade: Street Celebration
Pride, community, and a full switch to reusables.
As part of the Wellington Pride Parade Street Celebration, Lower Cuba Street transformed into a lively night market, complete with drag performers, DJs, local talent, and a vibrant food scene. For the first time, the event partnered with Nonstop Solutions and FillGood to introduce a full reuse system.
Across the celebration, 776 reusable items circulated through the food market, with all five vendors fully on board. Each was supplied with pre-ordered, making it simple to swap out single-use for reusables. On the ground, Nonstop Solutions delivered reuse in action, working alongside FillGood to support vendors and keep the system flowing.
With no deposits, no apps, and no barriers, attendees embraced the system and delivered an incredible 96% return rate - well above the benchmark for outdoor events. This first step marked a bold and colourful entry for reuse into Pride celebrations in Te Whanganui a Tara.
